As you may have heard, Durham just issued a stay at home order until April 30th (subject to change). Unfortunately, TJJ will remain closed until that time.
If you would like to put your membership on hold, I completely understand. Please contact me, or you can manage your membership through the website if you prefer.
If you would like to and are financially able to continue to support the gym in the coming month, we greatly appreciate it! I am looking for ways to make this up to everyone when the gym is back open — including seminars, private lessons, and exclusive gear for TJJ members. The coming month will be difficult, it will bring new challenges for everyone, but we’ll all get through this and the gym will get through this!
Please stay in touch on the TJJ Durham facebook page, and contact me if you need help, would like to help, or to trade memes!
As I’m sure you’ve all seen, in the last week, North Carolina and Durham have both declared a State of Emergency to deal with the risk posed to the public by COVID-19.
Every day we choose to step on the mats, we acknowledge our duty to keep each other safe (from injury and illness). It is with this in mind that TJJ will be closed tomorrow (03/16) and Tuesday (03/17) in order to thoroughly clean the mats and the gym. Wednesday through Friday, folks can stop by to train on their own from 12pm-1pm, or from 6pm-7pm. There will be no instructed adult classes to reduce group sizes, and youth classes for the week will be cancelled.
I will continue to stay tuned to mandates by the state and local government, and keep you updated with our plan as the situation evolves. I so appreciate your support during this time. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please reach out to me (Branny).
Stay healthy in mind and body,
